I'd rather build them the old way. Lapstrake. Plank. Rivets. Plywood when it's called for. I'll use epoxy if I have to, but I prefer the smell of wood. I'm big on the historic whitewater tradition of the Colorado River and the boats that found their way to that stream.
Build 'em. Run 'em. Wreck 'em. Fix 'em. Let me know if you want something built. Or fixed. Or maybe just want to help for a while and see how it's done.
